Merry Hill Autumn/Winter Fashion Event

Last week, I attended an event at Merry Hill Shopping Centre to showcase the coming season's trends.

We were treated to a fashion show of all the up and coming trends and a variety of beauty talks from Boot's including: Smashbox, Maxfactor, Origins and No 7. There are a definitely a few products I want to get after speaking to the ladies and trying some samples!

Issey Miyake Pleats Please Fragrance

The Origins Gin-Zing Energy boosting Moisturiser is now on my wishlist. It smells amazing like all of the Origins range.

Autumn/ Winter Fashion Trends

So, trends to look out for over the next few months are:
  • Leather and Fur
  • Cobalt Blue
  • Monochrome (Ebony and Ivory)
  • Metallics

(L-R) - Oasis, Internacionale, Vero Moda, Vero Moda, Warehouse and New Look

Vero Moda featured my favourite outfits of the night including this quilted white top which I actually picked up last night! It retails for £28 but Vero Moda have 25% off so it worked out at £21!

They have some lovely clothes in store and are really finding themselves in the fashion market. Poppy Delevingne is there model at the moment!

This weekend they are hosting an 'Autumn Fashion Weekend' with lots of discounts around the centre. You can pick up a voucher booklet from the concierge desk which gives you 20% off a variety of stores ranging from: Boux Avenue, Vero Moda, Oasis, Warehouse and many more.

I actually headed back to Merry Hill last night to make the most of the offers. I've been craving a shopping trip all week so I couldn't resist. I spent over £70 so headed to the concierge desk to pick up the free OPI nail varnish offer myself. There are 4 colours to choose from: a deep blue, nude pink, red and a vampy red.

I'd recommend heading over to Merry Hill this weekend! You can't complain at the huge choice of shops, free parking and discounts! Fashion trends will be on display and there are beauty pods around the centre to give everyone a treat.

Thanks to Westfield Merry Hill for a lovely evening!

Glossybox September 2013 - The London Edition

For the second month running, i'm really pleased with this month's Glossybox! I love it when it arrives the day before I get the despatch email.

There is a Union Jack printed box this month which is super cute. I really like the themed editions.

Now, onto the contents....

Elizabeth Arden Untold Perfume - £4.80 Value as 5ml

I actually appreciate this perfume sample as it comes in a cute bottle. Vial testers are a no-no!

Eyelure Pre-glued lashes - £5.06

I like the idea of these been pre-glued so these will be cool to try out. I don't go out on many nights out anymore to wear them though! I do have a wedding in a few weeks so they could be appropriate.

Toni & Guy Classic Shine & Gloss Serum £7.19 for 30ml

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eyeliner

HD Brows Blusher £17.95

This is an exciting product and you can see in the picture below that it is a burnt rose colour.

Unfortunately, my blusher arrived broken. I remember before when we received the HD Brows Palettes in a previous Glossybox that a lot of people had a similar issue and were sent replacements.

What do you think of this month's box?

You can't not go a little crazy in Boots - Haul

Here are some of the things that I picked up in Boots the other day.

Did I need them?
Did I want them?

Look out for some review posts after i've tried everything out!

Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencil in 3 - Vintage Blush

I mainly picked this up because it was £2.50 and I'd previously eyed up the Barry M and Rimmel ones. It's a gorgeous champagne colour.

Broadway Impress Nails in Control Freak

I have a huge reserve of these at home in various designs but I fancied something different so picked these up for £7.99. These are a shade of pink with embedded glitter.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in 'On and On Bronze'

I've had MAC's Paint Pot in Constructivist on my wishlist for a little while but after all the rave reviews I've been seeing I decided to try one of the Colour Tattoos. On first impressions I really like it!

Real Techniques - Expert Face Brush and Blush Brush

I love my Sigma brushes that I've actually never posted about before but these are completely different to any brushes that I have and are therefore justified ;) I already have the stippling brush and on first use, these brushes are great!

Statement Necklaces - NEXT

I have been searching for the perfect statement necklaces for so long without success. I'm a bit too fussy you see. The majority of statement necklaces in the shops are gold and it's rare for me to wear gold jewellery; I much prefer silver!

In all the shops i've looked in, there has always been something not quite right: too big, too spiky or the wrong colour. I'd actually given up hunting for one but this morning, I ventured into NEXT.

Next isn't somewhere that I usually go into but I was surprised at how many nice things they have and there were definitely a few that I wanted!

I couldn't choose between the following two necklaces so treated myself to both! They were quite hard to photograph but i've linked the items so you can check out the stock photos on the NEXT website.

Mix Plate And Crystal Effect Statement Necklace £18

Other items I considered buying:

This grey jewelled clutch bag caught my eye and was £20.
I was really impressed with the selection of shoes that they have in NEXT. They had some gorgeous designs and they were really nice quality.

These berry suede slippers - caught my eye as I love this colour for autumn and I have been after a pair of flats in this shade. They do half sizes too which is good! They are £24.

These grey studded slippers were another pair that I really liked. They retail for £32.

I'll definitely have a look in NEXT when i'm shopping in future!

MAC Paint Pot - Bare Study and Face Powder in Pink Buttercream

I picked these up from Duty Free when I went on holiday. You can't go through there and not buy something!

I love MAC Paint Pots at the moment hence, I picked up another one in Bare Study. I've recently added Constructivist to my wishlist though!

They are so easy to work with and perfect for when you haven't got much time in the morning to create an eye look. Bare Study is especially great as it's a neutral colour so you don't have to blend it, you can literally just swipe it across your eyelids or simply use it as a base to build upon. It's a sheer champagne colour with gold shimmer.

Paint Pots retail for £15.

As I like these so much, I think I need to try out the Maybelline Colour Tattoos next.

Next up is a Pearl Matte Face Powder in Pink Buttercream from the Baking Beauties collection. I was sucked in by the pretty design....oops. It has enough pigment to be used as a highlight/blush. Originally, I thought the blue was just a top decorative layer that would wear off but it's actually all the way through. This is quite shimmery but adds a nice touch.
