Review: Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturiser

Just a little review for you all today.....

I ventured into Boots numerous times and managed to avoid picking up the Vaseline Spray and Moisturiser even though it was on every shelf and round every corner!

There was definitely a lot of promotion for it! About 3 trips later, I caved and ended up picking the Aloe Vera scent. I almost got the cocoa butter one but the brown bottle wasn't so appealing.

For £4.99 it's a little bit pricey for a Vaseline product but I do like the concept. I find the worst thing about moisturising is the waiting around for it to absorb into your skin. So the idea that you can simply spray and go with this one is very appealing!

The scents available are Aloe Vera, Oat and Cocoa. The Aloe Vera one smells nice and I like the bottle with the on/off contraption. You can find it here.

It creates a refreshing fine mist which you just quickly rub in. 'Spray and Go' gave me the impression that no rubbing in was required. It's not as 'quick' as it suggests but is a nice product and good for us lazy people that find moisturising a chore.

Have you tried this?!

This outfit features two of the items that I mentioned in my Newlife Haul post. Since then, I have discovered that all three of the items that I got originate from River Island.

Cardigan - River Island
Top - Primark
Skirt - River Island
Heels - Topshop (old)

I have Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain 010 Darling Cherie £7.99 on my lips.

I don't have any eyeliner on with this look which is crazy as it is the one product I always wear! I feel naked without it. But for some reason I thought the lip colour was enough on this occasion. Definitely a rare occasion though!

Primark Haul

This post is slightly overdue hence the gorgeous sunny weather and the outside photos but you know what I'm going to show you anyway!

This is a Merry Hill Primark Haul. I specify Merry Hill as they definitely have the nicest Primark there compared to the one in Birmingham town. I only to go to Primark when I go to Merry Hill Shopping Centre as everything's laid out nicely there and you don't have to rummage around the floor and fight to get past people!

I'm starting to add more basic pieces to  my wardrobe as they're so easy to throw together and don't really go out of fashion.

First up, I love these hair turbans that are only £1.50, i've picked one of these up on my last three visits! They're just so convenient.

Next up, a casual grey t shirt with 'pearl' studding. This was £4.

Basic grey t shirt with dipped back £5

Black swing vest with gold chain straps £5

I love the chain straps and wish that i'd picked up a couple of these in other colours! I've worn this so much and the chain detail makes it look a lot more dressy than it is.

Paisley Print Denim Jeans £12

I wanted some polka dot printed jeans but didn't want to pay too  much for them as I knew they'd be something that I wouldn't wear too much. I spotted these and thought they were a good choice for both the price and style. The paisley print is quite subtle but I really like it!

Merry Hill has also been voted the 6th best shopping centre in the UK! It's definitely one of my favourite places to go for a day out.

Missguided Sweet Deal OOTD

This dress was a bargain for £5.99 from Missguided. That's full price too, it's not even on sale! They have a section on their website called the 'sweet deal' section. This features basic items from £2.99. A few days ago they were offering free delivery so I thought i'd see what the quality/sizing was like.

Below is the Cailey Midi Bodycon Dress in Burgundy. I'm starting to add more autumn coloured items to my wardrobe now!

Heels: Jane Norman
Necklace: Dorothy Perkins

After reading some reviews, it sounded like I needed to size up in dresses so as the options were S/M or M/L, I went for the larger one and it turns out to be a good fit. I'm really impressed with the quality and i'm going to place an order for some other things later tonight!

There is a Bank Holiday offer for 10% off if you use the code HOL10 at the checkout. It's definitely worth a look!

Chi Chi Wishlist

My cousin's wedding is just over a month away so i've started to look for a dress. Originally, I planned to wear a purple midi dress that I bought earlier in the year from Dorothy Perkins. However, when the invitations came through, I found out that the colour scheme of the wedding is purple so I think a new dress is is in order :) I was browsing the Chi Chi website a few nights ago and saved some of my favourites. Since then, I noticed that they are holding a competition to win £200 of vouchers to spend on their site in conjunction with etail PR, so it is a perfect excuse to share some of the dresses that I am considering wth you.

For each dress, I have chosen some accessories that I already own which I think compliment the outfit well.

Lizette - £46.99

Modesta - £46.99

Megan - £43.99

Pabla - £49.99

This dress is my favourite at the moment and my floral crown from Crown and Glory would go amazingly!

Make sure to let me know which dress is your favourite!

You can enter the competition here. The closing date is 5pm tomorrow so you'll have to be quick!

Homeware Haul - The Range

Something a little bit different today - a homeware haul!

I popped out with my mum and brother last weekend and ended up been out for hours. I was pleased when we came to a retail park with The Range on though.

I love shopping for homeware/decorative items. I'm really into monochrome at the moment as you can probably tell from the colours of everything that I bought.

Here's what I got:
I've linked all the products that I can find online :) I didn't actually know that you could buy things online so that's tempting ;)

I almost got some grey curtains too but the lady gave me the wrong size. My mum gave me some old ones when we got home and they are perfect. Thanks mum :)

You may have seen the picture that I posted on Instagram of some mannequins that they had. If I had more space, I'd definitely get one. They are only £40!

July Empties

My empty product posts always seem to end up appearing around the middle of the month for some reason.

I still can't get over how many products you actually use up if you stick to the same thing for a while and then keep the bottles as evidence!

Constant repurchases that I love:

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - Review here
Batiste Dry Shampoo
No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make Up Remover - Review here

Bath & Bodyworks Hand Sanitisers - These are the best things ever but I think this has exhausted my stash of them. I usually order them in bulk on eBay. They smell gorgeous and look pretty too!

Ginvera BB Cream - I love this and am definitely going to be purchasing the full size. I was impressed the very first time that I used it. I used it whilst I was away in Tunisia as it has SPF 30 in it. The colour tint is much nicer than that i've found with other BB creams and this sample from the Birmingham Blogger Meet Up has lasted me ages!

Percy & Reed Colour Shine Conditioner - This was a nice product but a bit of a thick conditioner for my fine hair. It was a freebie in Glamour magazine.

John Frieda Everlasting Blonde Shampoo - I finished the conditioner to this in my last empties post but shampoo always last me longer. This originated in a Glossybox and I loved it. I'll definitely purchase the full size next time I get highlights.

Dove Summer Glow Gradual Tan Moisturising Lotion - This is the dark version as I find it's usually best to get the darkest shade with tanning products for the best effect. I used this to maintain my holiday tan and really liked it. It's on offer in Boots at the moment for £2.50, half price I think so I've just picked up a replacement.

Palmolive Shower Creme

Morgan Vanilla Bubble Bath

Blend Collective Hand Lotion

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque - I am a newly converted Macadamia addict. I was lucky to be able to meet the owner at an event held by the Vintage Set. Pretty sure that I'll have a whole Macadamia post up soon!

No7 Eyeliner pencils - Over the years, whenever I had a £5 off No7 voucher, I always picked up one of these eyeliners because they ended up been £2.50. I still love them, they stay put all day and are a solid black. I've actually finished two eyeliners which is a first hence the odd looking remains in the photo!

Glossybox August 2013

This month's Glossybox had a  high flyers theme. From what i've seen, it has had mixed reviews but i'm pleased with it!

 Emite Make Up Eyelash Curlers

These are from a Swedish brand and retail for £20! They seem to be really good quality and they look nice too! It's an excuse for me to throw some of my old ones away. They came with replacement rubber bits too.

Available from

TRESemme Platinum Treatment 60 second shot

£1.49 full size. This is meant to transform hair so we'll see!

Oceane Make Up Remover Pen

This product is from Brazil and therefore, not available in the UK. It is a cool concept though and comes with replacement nibs so i'm excited to try it.

Juicy Couture, Viva La Juicy Noir Perfume Sample

I dislike miniature perfume samples but love Juicy Couture. The bottle for this perfume is gorgeous, pink liquid with a black bow. I smelt this the other day in Selfridges and quite liked it but the bottle's enough to suck me in! It has notes of berry and honeysuckle. It retails for £63 for 100ml so this sample at 1.5ml is worth about 95p.

Jelly Pong pong 2 in 1 eyeliner and shadow

This is full size and retails for £10.50. It is a khaki colour and i actually really like it. I wouldn't call it an eyeshadow just because you can blend it into one as you can typically do that with any eyeliner. I've received other Jelly Pong Pong products in previous Glossybox's but this is my favourite one!

Available from

THis months box has an approximate value of £32.94 compared to the £12.95 cost excluding the unpriced make up remover pen.

What did you think of this month's Glossybox?

The Newlife Centre

I've briefly posted before about the Newlife Centre. Basically, it is a place where shops send their excess, old and even faulty stock for resale to benefit charity.

To shop there, you have to sign up for an annual membership card which only costs around £4. This gives you exclusive discounts which change on a daily basis. A gold membership package is also available at a slightly higher price which offers more discounts. These may include 20% off blue marked items etc.

I regularly see items in there from River Island, Primark, Accessorise, Monsoon and New Look. River Island bags actually state that they support the Newlife Centre!

The 'catch' is that the labels are cut out of the clothing so that you can't resell them and technically you can't see what brand the item is from. However, I am pretty good at spotting things that i've seen in shops or guessing from the label remains!

The prices are really good. Sometimes when I go I don't find anything at all but then sometimes i'll find a few things. Ryan has family local to the store so it's a perfect excuse to head over there.

As the prices are so reasonable, I use it as an excuse to try different trends/styles that I wouldn't usually try. They stock clothes, bags, shoes, jewellery and there is also a homeware store opposite.

For you Midlands bloggers, the postcode is: WS11 7GF.

I found this skirt which I have been eyeing up in River Island for a while so it was a bargain at £4.99. Then, I think that I got an extra discount at the checkout. It just means you can't return it if you accept the extra discount offer but for the price you pay, I've never bothered to take anything back anyway and it goes to charity.

This cardigan was £7.99 I think before the extra discount. It fits nicely and I really like it.

Finally, this yellow dress was something that I picked up 'out of my comfort zone'. This has some foundation marks round the neck which is probably why it ended up at the Newlife Centre. £7.99 before discount.

From the homeware store, I picked up a thick Paperchase notebook for £1.50 and a 'Really Useful Box' for £3.

Have any of you ever been?

#VintSetFest with The Vintage Set

As I mentioned in my last outfit post, I attended #VintSetFest last week hosted by The Vintage Set

The Vintage Set are a boutique available on ASOS and the event was held at the Custard Factory in Birmingham.

Get ready for a picture heavy post!

I haven't been to the Custard Factory in so long so it was a nice surprise to see how many cute vintage shops are open down there now! To find our way down there, I met up with a few lovely bloggers at New Street Station so we could get lost together. Meeting them in New Street was a challenge as I haven't been in since the renovations have took place.

There were a bunch of lovely stalls there including Macadamia, Harri Styles, a swap rail, The Vintage Set of course, Make Up Academy and Nails by Rosie to name a few.

Whilst I was there, I tried a Silver Edition Lime Red Bull. I love anything lime and this was really nice. I'll definitely try another one! They have released a few new flavours so they're worth trying! I managed to put my bag down on some spilt drink though. Thankfully it dried clear!

There was a local band performing, a barbecue, a raffle and lots of other things to keep us entertained!

There was a question and answer session with a panel of the owner of Macadamia and representatives of ASOS and The Clothes Show Live.

I met up with some of my favourite bloggers, old and new. It's always nice to see some familiar faces!

Thank you to The Vintage Set for inviting me! It was a lovely well presented night!
