Glossybox 2nd Birthday Beauty Box

Glossybox has turned 2 and I've received every box apart from one so that 23 boxes and a fair amount of money!

This month's packaging is extra pretty!

Products:

Headline Colors Nail Varnish
Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Waterproof Mascara
Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner
Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shine Spray
Beautiful Movements Primer

For a birthday box, I was expecting better. The Glossybox nail files were a cute addition and the Green & Black's chocolate bar for having been subscribed for over a year was nice.

I could happily not use anything in the box this month apart from the Jelly Pong Pong mascara which I was happy to receive. I'm pleased with the mascara as I needed a waterproof mascara to take on holiday, I have a whole tub of unopened mascaras but none of them happen to be waterproof!

Normally, i'd say that they couldn't go wrong with nail varnish but it's summer now and i'm definitely not wanting a dark grey metal shade at the moment.

Eyeliner wise, I always use pencil or gel and have never managed to hack liquid application. I have actually had this before but threw it away as it dried up.

Shine spray isn't something I reach for and I have plenty in my collection already so this is just another bottle.

The primer pot is tiny but i'll give it a go at some point. I'm less likely to use a product if it comes in a clear pot.

I've put off posting this review as it's not the most positive. I'm sure some of you would love to have the products in this box but they're just not right for me. I've seen some of the other versions of this box and    I would've preferred some of those products.

I love Glossybox and after 23 boxes, I've definitely been a loyal subscriber. I love receiving the parcel in the post to see what surprises lie in store but i'm starting to think for £12.95 a month, I could buy one product that I actually want and will use. (It's almost a MAC lipstick a month aha)

I'm not going to unsubscribe at the moment but I do hope that it gets better!

OOTN - Presentation Evening

Ryan manages a football team and it was their end of season presentation on Saturday night so here's what I wore:

As I haven't been buying many clothes lately, i'm having to bring out some old favourites. Usually I just pull out my newest buys to wear but everything that i've purchased recently are been saved to take to Tunisia in a few weeks!

Top: Warehouse
Belt: Dorothy Perkins
Leggings: Topshop
Heels: Dune

Almost achieving a head to toe monochrome look ;)

This Bank Holiday weekend has been hectic but fun at the same time. I actually did a bootsale on Saturday after saying for months that i'd do one so i raised a fair bit of money and i'll definitely do one again soon as I was still left with a lot of stuff! Then, I did a bit of shopping today so i'll have a haul up soon!

Holiday Haul .1 ft Havaianas

The last few times that i've been shopping I haven't actually found anything that I liked. It's always the same when you have money to spend nothing stands out to you and it is so annoying!

Last weekend, I headed out to pick up a few presents for people and finally found a few things for myself :)

The above top is from T K Maxx. I love T K Maxx but it can be a bit hit and miss sometimes. It only cost £7.99 and I love the aztec print giraffes. It'll be perfect for my holiday.

Also from T K Maxx are this lightweight cuffed trousers that were £16.99. They are from a brand called Mode and I saw a few other items from them that I quite liked. They don't photograph well at all but I think they'll be good to throw on whilst i'm away.

Ryan picked up these Havaianas for me and they're so pretty. I had a plain purple pair last year but the flower embellishments are so cute.
They retail for £17.99 and are available here.

Holidayyy :)

I'm going to Tunisia in June just before my 21st birthday! I'm really excited especially as it's my first proper sunny holiday.

My plan is to have a little series of posts of things that I purchase ready to take away with me as most of my shopping up until then will be holiday related!

Firstly, I had been lusting after this suitcase in T K Maxx since I first saw it back in January (I posted a picture on Instagram). I resisted for 4 months but then after booking our holiday I had the perfect excuse to buy it!

It is from the Guess Scattered Hearts Collection. It is available in white/pink, pink/yellow and black/pink. I chose the medium size which was in clearance for £55 from £70, so I'm glad that I waited!

I can't believe how quickly it has come around, I go in about 5 weeks and I kind of don't want it to go as the build up itself has been so exciting!

Beauty Swap with Callie Rose

HannahMarieBeauty recently organised a beauty swap and I signed up as soon as I saw it as I really enjoyed the last swap that I did! I was paired up with Callie Rose and we each had a budget of £30.

Callie really treated me and got me some amazing products and I am so grateful!

She got me a range of products and i'm really excited to try them all!

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara

Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses

Topshop Matte Lipstick in Tease

I've only tried a nail varnish from the Topshop Make Up line so i'm excited to have this! It's a perfect colour for me and i'll get loads of use out of this.

Sleek Contour Kit in Light

Sleek is another brand that I haven't really ventured into. This is a lovely bronzer and highlighter and they seem really pigmented.

Montagne Jeunesse Passion Peel Off Face Masks in Passion

STEAMCREAM

I've wanted to try Steamcream for ages! The different designs on the tin are appealing and a Union Jack design is so classic. I have high hopes for this and this was the last thing that I expected to be in my box of goodies!

Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel

I've tried this before and you can't go wrong with products from Simple, I think that i'm going to save this for my holiday :)

Carmex Lip Balm

Only the day before I got this, I was talking about how I needed a new lip balm so this is perfect.

Vaseline Hand Cream

Thank you again to Callie Rose, I really appreciate everything you got me and hope that you enjoy your products!

To see what I got Callie, you can see her blog post here.

Thank you to Hannah for organising the swap. I think they are so fun to take part in and would love to do an international swap one day.

April Empties

A little bit late this month, time is flying by.... I cannot believe that I am going on holiday in 5 weeks :O

I'm doing really well with using products up at the moment!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Wild and Tropical - The BEST dry shampoo out there.

Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Volume Dry Shampoo - This was nothing special, i've tried numerous dry shampoos and none of them have compared to Batiste.

Trevor Sorbie Beautifully straightened Conditioner -  This was a good conditioner and I probably would repurchase it in the future.

Britney Spears Fantasy Body SoufflĂ© - The perfume of this is my favourite but I never find that lotions that come in perfume sets are really any good. As this was a souffle it was better than most and it did smell nice but i've used better.

Soap and Glory Hand Food - LOVE. One of the best non-greasy hand creams and who doesn't love Soap and Glory?

Radox Shower Smoothie - A miniature that I picked up when we stayed in London, I would consider repurchasing it.

Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter and Chocolate sample - Both of these smell lush and totally edible plus they're really good moisturisers. The scent lasts on your skin and you smell of yummy strawberries all day!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in Ivory 100 - For the price this is really good, coverage is amazing but the lightest shade is a little bit orange for me but I have repurchased this already.

Nip and Fab Mango Body Butter -  If a body butter smells delicious, it's a winner. I really want to try the pistachio version from this brand.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent - A regular in empties posts, I don't know what I would do if this was ever discontinued.

Bath and Bodyworks Island Margarita Pocket Bac - We need these to be readily available in the UK. They're just so handy and everybody at work thinks that i've just sprayed perfume when I use this.

Collection Hot Looks Nail Varnish  in Mint Mojo - This has been replaced by Essie's Mint Candy Apple. Last year when I wanted to try this colour I picked up this cheap one but it's since gone all yacky.

Benefit Play stick - I've had this way too long. I htink it was one of the first high end products my mum took me to get. It's meant to be a concealer, foundation and powder in one. It's definitely really thick and I definitely liked it.

No7 Eye Make Up Remover Review

No7 hasn't been a brand that I have particularly looked at before but I received one of their travel kits for Christmas and have been impressed with all of the products.

  • No7 Eye Make Up Remover
  • No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser
  • No7 Muslin Cloth
  • No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream
  • No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream
  • No7 Headband

One of my favourites was the eye make up remover and I have since purchased 2 of the full size versions for £8.50 each.

I put about 3 dabs on a cotton pad and hold it over my eyes for about five seconds and wipe it off and it takes all my make up off. I use Bioderma on the rest of my face but I think that this is more gentle for the eye area.

Boots have got their £5 off No7 skincare and £3 off No7 Make Up, so you can pick this up at the moment for a bargain of £3.50!

All of their skincare products are on 3 for 2 aswell.
