Perfume Samples

What's your opinion on the little 1.5ml perfume samples? All of mine tend to go in a box and I don't actually use them whether they came in a Glossybox or from a shop.

From the Merry Hill Event, there were quite a few in the goody bag from The Fragrance Shop.

There was a leaflet saying that they do a discovery box where for £5 each quarter you get to try 5 perfume samples and get £25 worth of discount vouchers.

I love the idea of the Sephora ones where you get minatures (I actually like them when they're that little bit bigger because they come in pretty bottles) and then get to trade a voucher in for a full size version of your favourite but I don't think The Perfume Shop's idea is as good a concept.

Inglot Lipgloss Review

Whilst at Westfield in London, I picked up my first Inglot product. They are more well known for their eyeshadow palettes but I picked up one of their lipglosses.

It is amazingly holographic! I couldn't decide between about 4 of the holographic ones but I decided this was the one that I'd get the most wear out of.

It's really pretty and settles as a pink on the lips.
You can see that it is holographic for about 5 minutes but that wears off.
It isn't really sticky which is good but staying power isn't the best.

It cost £12 and the shade is AMC lipgloss 542.

I definitely prefer when they have shade names rather than numbers.

A Mini Boots Haul

As if the snow has come back again; it's almost April!

On Friday night, I drove round to Ryan's and the roads were horrible, I was skidding a bit and I didn't like it! So, on Saturday morning, I abandoned my car at Ryan's and started walking to the bus stop.

On the way to the bus stop you pass a retail park which has a Boots so I stopped there. I actually planned to have a no shopping Saturday but the snow annoyed me so I went anyway.

At the moment they have cosmetics and hair products on 3 for 2!

As they are on 3 for 2,
the Essie nail varnishes work out as about £5.20 each which I think is more reasonably priced.

I got Bahama Mama, Mint Candy Apple and Big Spender.

I resisted Mint Candy Apple last year and I've wanted Bahama Mama for a while. Big Spender and Bahama Mama are actually quite similar colours but I felt like I needed the two.

The £5 off No7 vouchers are still running until the 30th March. I 'm making the most of them this time and stocking up. I really like No7's eye make up remover (£3.50 with voucher) after a sample that I got for Christmas and their wipes are good too! (£2 with voucher)

I always try and get hair bobbles without metal as that can break your hair but I find that you pay for what you get. I've had these before and they didn't snap - £3.50 for 27.

After Boots, I headed to Costa and called a taxi. I gave up with the bus as my Uggs were soaked and I had black make up streaming down my face!

Rimmel Shopping

I get an extra 20% off Rimmel products as we have a stand where I work. It comes in handy if I've ever run out of a product as I can easily grab a replacement on my way out the door!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

This is my second bottle of this. Recently I've been trying different foundations after using Revlon Colorstay for about 2 and a half years straight. I'm really impressed with the coverage and the formula, the only downside is the limited shade range. I'm using the lightest shade 100 ivory. It has SPF 15 in which is good for the daytime but i'm still after a night time foundation so I don't look like a ghost in flash photos!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

I swear by this and it appears in almost every monthly empties post - yes, I use loads of this! I always get the transparent shade as i'm putting it over foundation. If I didn't use it as well as foundation i'd get a darker shade but on top, I think it can be a bit orange. For £3.99, I love this and am so glad that I'm not addicted to MAC's msf as that would cost me about £20 every month!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Eyeliner Black

The quality of this is really good. I can never have enough eyeliner and for the price this is amazing. It stays put, it's solid black and it's soft.

What's your favourite Rimmel Product?

London + OOTN

A few weekends ago, I headed to London after work to spend the weekend with my favourite girlies!

Here's a few pictures of what we got up to!

Meal at Strada

Yummy Pizza

We went shopping in Westfield and I picked up a couple of things which i'll show you later!

In the evening, we went out clubbing at Upper West. It was so different to any night out i've had before but it was really nice and with free drinks all night I definitely won't complain!

All wrapped up on the tube!

Bloglovin and I'm Back!

Where have I been? I haven't posted in almost 3 weeks but I've been keeping up with everyone else's posts. I'm back and I'm going to start writing a few catch up posts!

Jumping on the bandwagon....

We are Fashion Live - Merry Hill

Merry Hill are holding a fashion and beauty event this weekend, the 8th and 9th March.

As a preview for this weekend, I was invited to an event on Monday night alongside some of the bloggers that I had met at the Birmingham Bloggers Meet Up back in January.

Me and Clare

It was held in Pizza Express and we were treated to Krispy Kreme doughnuts, tonnes of pizza, massages, a goody bag and surrounded by party hats and feather boas whilst getting a fashion showcase preview.

A variety of stores had some of their staff modelling the up and coming trends for this season:

(L-R, Warehouse, Vero Moda, Oasis, New Look, Jack Jones)

My favourite outfits are the Warehouse Maxi Dress £80, only £60 with the 20% off voucher and the Vero Moda outfit, Jacket £75, Shirt £18 and Sweater only £9!

Inside our goody bag, we received the voucher booklet that you can get your hands on this weekend to get some amazing deals in 30 stores! Here are some of my favourite:

20% off Boux Avenue (New to Merry Hill!)
20% off Vero Moda
20% off Internacionale
25% off Warehouse

Around the centre, there will be beauty pods offering treatments and fashion zones showing you the latest trends. Look out for the flash mobs too that will give you a chance to win some prizes!

Looks like we'd left a hen party!

Sorry for the picture heavy post.

Stila Palette £14

This is a complete bargain, it is Stila's Sparkle palette, one from the Christmas range which is now on sale on ASOS for only £14!

I saw it on  The Beauty Belle's Blog and couldn't resist picking it up for myself.

You can find it here.

The external packaging is all silver glitter! The only problem is that it is difficult to read the back of the palette.

The colours really convinced me to buy it as they're all so wearable. The cranberry shades are so pretty too! The middle shade 'Marilyn' is my favourite.

It also comes with a purple eyeliner in 'Ladyfish'.

  • of the ocean
  • crushed velvet
  • cashmere
  • bordeaux
  • marilyn
  • pink diamond
  • bon bon
  • silk
  • bubble bath

With free delivery as well you can't complain.

February Empties 2013

February has literally come and gone. I have been so so busy with work and at home and I just haven't stopped. I've been living on caffeine and am so happy the weekend has come around! Finally some blog time, I haven't posted in two weeks and have a back log of blogs and videos to read and watch!

All that aside, here are the products that i've used up this past month:

Boots Extracts Body Butters in almond and bergamot - These are perfect for throwing in my bag and they smell lush and i'd definitely repurchase them, i've still got some other miniatures and full size ones to go yet! I'd compare them to the Body Shop ones just a little bit cheaper.(Body Shop full size is about £13, Boots are £7.50)

Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara - (£11.95ish) I have a huge reserve of mascaras so was glad to break into a new one. It wasn't empty but I was been hygienic and the brush had lost half its bristles, i'd obviously been a little bit violent. I've had this before and I'd buy it again - I actually have the false lash effect fusion waiting to be used so it's practically the same.

Nivea Soothe and Protect Lip Balm -  This was okay to have in my bag but it definitely wasn't anything special.

No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make Up Remover - £8.50 full size I got this in a gift set for Christmas and absolutely loved it, i've already repurchased it, review coming soon.....

Batiste Dry Shampoo - standard.

Simple Spotless Skin Cleansing Wipes - £2.99 -These are something that I continually repurchase now as when I find something that doesn't break me out at all I stick with them. This past month or so, I've really improved on my skincare routine and will take my make up off with other products then just finish off with these.

Gilchrist and Choames sea kelp shampoo - I stupidly assumed that this was a shower gel and didn't realise it was actually shampoo until I'd emptied the bottle..... whoops.

Boots Botanics Active Plant Extracts Body Wash and Body Butter - These came in a set and were nice to use, they were both really thick consistences, nothing more to say.
